The unknown is scary.
Being upside down is scary.
Doing a headstand is scary.
Rolling is scary.
Listening is scary.
Using one’s voice is scary.
Using one’s body is scary.
Being attentive is scary.
Being present is scary.
Being vulnerable is scary.
Being truthful is scary.
Not-knowing is scary.
Not-understanding is scary.
Creating is scary.
Accepting is scary.
Just-doing is scary.
Abandoning is scary.
Giving up is scary.
Resigning is scary.
Standing up for Singapore is scary.
And this is why I’m so grateful to have met the participants of this batch. They gave their all, as they drew from their need to speak, to relate, to care, to create, and to journey.
To Aadya, Dameris, Jia Min, Ying, and Xin Rui: these things are scary for me too. And you have made it easier for me by being-with me throughout the 20 weeks. You amazing and beautiful human beings :)
I don’t know what lies ahead - but isn’t that the exciting thing about living? Not knowing?
