Cheng Xin Rui’s Experience (Facilitator) [he/him]
At some point I will run out of new things to say. But today is not that day.
Again, I find myself amazed at the sheer diversity of thoughts and experiences that arise throughout the process. It is wonderful to see people continue to hold interest in finding new spaces for and new modes of expression, even despite the rapid pace of life in Singapore.
It is especially heartening to see a younger attendee within the cohort, and watching how the other participants are able to include and bring them along the process. The process, I think is not an easy one even for adults, forcing us to confront our embodied realities in a way we so rarely get to do in modern life, but in the course of observing the participants and interact, it brings to mind the fact that guiding others is also a good avenue of self reflection.
I am yet again blown away by how enthusiastically our participants engaged with the process, and how generously they gave themselves into the space, the shared space that we create together.
The “self” is constantly in flux, and life’s ebbs and flows will mould it into different shapes at different times. But at the centre of it all, there lies an indescribable individuality, and I am curious to see how it shines through this batch of participants even as they go on to their future endeavours.
