I was taught by people to introduce myself like…

“Good morning, I am Bryan Au. A second-year social work student at a local university. I enjoy theatre because it gives me both the space to be myself and not myself.”

But what is stopping me from introducing myself like…

“Harloh harla hey hi ho, I like Spider-Man. And I sometimes dream what it would be like to fly or run really fast. I am whoever you think I am. Some days people call me Bryan, most days I call myself silly. I don’t make sense many times, yet sometimes the senseless makes the most sense to me. Hello, nice to meet you you you. Would you like me to dance crazy on stage for you?”

Ditching the script shows more of who I am.
